Words of kindness are works of kindness, and since they cost so little and are worth so much, we should strew them plentifully all along life's way. ~Modern Proverbs

No kidding? I don't think "owning" lunar property would stand up to a legal challenge, but what fun to say, "Yea, I'm going to retire to the moon. I have property there!" posted by deborah

So, here it is Tuesday again It may be a semi-busy day. Christopher has an appointment for his hearing test today at 11 am. It is tested periodically because he is sort of deaf in his left ear, a result of the meningitis he had as an infant. It hasn't become any worse in the past few years, so I expect it will be about the same again.
Then tonight, he has a thing at the HS to register for his Freshman year. Wow, three of them in high school next school year. Amazing!
Edward has a band concert today up in Yelm. The students will leave the school about 11 this morning and not get back until about 9 tonight. It is a concert wherein several schools participate. I guess there is some kind of "social" afterward.
Not much else going on. I am still busy listing things on eBay. Jim and I also opened the shop this past weekend. That was fun. Business was fairly steady all three days, so we were encouraged.
I suppose we will make our obligatory stop at the Goodwill today. I found several things there yesterday, books mostly. One was a really nice looking book about Chevy Corvettes. That should sell well.
Julie and Britt stopped by yesterday morning. It was nice to see them both (even if they did get me out of bed, which didn't hurt me at all, anyway, and I really needed to get up and get on with the day).
It is supposed to warm up quite dramatically today. Maybe as high at 70. Whoo. I could get used to that. Of course, it's one or two days of warmth, then back to the chill and rain. Brrrr!
Not much is going on around here. I am trying to get caught up on my blogging. It seems I am always behinder these days. I seem to have lost most of my organizational skills. Or maybe it is just not as important as it used to be. Gosh, just imagine, doing the dishes isn't on my top 10 list of things to do.
I have to make a trip to the post office to mail a few eBay things. Then a stop at The Copy Depot to get copies of "Not Ready for the Chariots" ready to mail to Wapa. That's one of the amateur presses to which I belong. I missed the deadline for the last mailing (no surprise given my propensity for procrastination).
I go to the mailing station at Olympic Card and Gift rather than the post office these days. The service is more personal. While I am there I have to find out how much it will cost to send a book to the Netherlands. I had an inquiry from an eBay buyer if I would ship to the Netherlands. She is interested in the book I have listed called "The Celtic Collection." It is a book of knit sweater patterns of Celtic design influence.
Christopher is feeling fine after his fall of two weeks ago. I am so happy he didn't fracture that hip. I'm just sorry he was in such pain for the few days he was. Maybe he will think twice before he tries something like that again. No, probably not! Oh, yes, and I decided he could buy a skateboard from one of his friends. My husband said I was crazy to let him get it, but, .....
It was good to see LoTR:Return of the King do so well at the Oscars last night--and best, picture, too! A big woo-hoo from this fan!
What movie will we see next. Well, Hidalgo with Viggo M. is on the agenda as well as the new Potter movie in June.
Speaking of HP, I read recently that a 1st UK edition of "Philospopher's Stone" is valued at $10,000., and a 1st American editon of "Sorceror's Stone" is $3,500. I will definitely keep my eyes open for these books when I am browsing the used book sections.
Oh, yeah, wasn't Jennifer Gardner looking good at the Oscar's last night. On the afterword show, Roper (of Ebert and) said he thought Gardner was going to be a big star in Hollywood one of these days. I wouldn't disagree with that.
